About the role
Our Flutter apps are how members discover and book gyms, studios and sports venues in Bengaluru and Mysuru, and how partner venues manage bookings and check members in. You'll join a small engineering team and ship features across all of them, on Android and iOS.
This is an early-career role. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, review code and have yours reviewed, and own real features from the first design to the release.
What you'll do
- Build features across our member and partner apps in Flutter and Dart, from screens and state management to the calls behind them.
- Turn designs into fast, accessible interfaces that feel as good on an entry-level Android phone as on a new iPhone.
- Connect the apps to our Go backend over gRPC, and to Firebase for sign-in, messaging and notifications.
- Work with maps and location, payments, QR check-ins, photos and video, and offline storage.
- Write tests, fix bugs, track down crashes and help keep every release stable.
- Help ship releases to the Play Store and App Store, and learn the process end to end.
What you'll bring
- Up to 2 years of experience building apps with Flutter and Dart, through a job, an internship or apps you've built and shipped yourself.
- A solid grasp of Flutter widgets, layouts and navigation, and of asynchronous Dart (Futures and Streams).
- Experience with a state management approach such as Riverpod, Provider or Bloc.
- Comfort working with APIs, JSON and Git.
- An eye for detail: you notice when a screen stutters or a label gets cut off, and you fix it.
- Clear communication, and the curiosity to ask good questions and learn quickly.
Nice to have
- Riverpod, gRPC or protocol buffers.
- Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Messaging, Firestore), or a local database such as ObjectBox or Hive.
- Google Maps, location or payment SDKs such as Razorpay.
- Some native Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift) experience.
- An app on the Play Store or App Store, or open-source work we can look at.
